Belotero Balance® is also my go-to product for performing what I refer to as “peri-oral hydration.” As we age, we lose volume in and around our mouths. This, along with sun damage and even bone loss, causes wrinkling and an aged appearance. During a peri-oral hydration treatment, I am able to simultaneously place tiny amounts of hyaluronic acid into the tissue around the mouth and induce collagen stimulation in that area. Therefore, there’s an initial improvement from the placement of the filler that continues to improve in the coming weeks as the hyaluronic acid hydrates the area and your body’s own collagen is stimulated.
